The chickadees are a group of North American birds. They are small-sized birds overall, usually having the crown of the head and throat patch distinctly darker than the body. Little flocks of Black-capped Chickadees enliven the winter woods with their active behavior and their cheery-sounding chick-a-dee callnotes as they fly from tree to tree.
