Handmade Athena Owl earrings.

The modern West generally associates owls with wisdom. This link goes back at least as far as Ancient Greece, where Athens, noted for art and scholarship, and Athena, Athens' patron goddess and the goddess of wisdom, had the owl as a symbol.

• Antiqued bronze: patina applied to solid jeweler gold bronze pendant and 14k gold filled ear wire.

• Silver: solid sterling silver coin and ears wire.

• Each piece is individually made and signed in the back.

• Handmade Greek coin reproduction.

• One sided.

• Soldered eyelet on top. 

• The coin is about 3/4" or 20mm.

• Gold filled has 100 times more gold than plated so does not rub or peel off.

• Nickel free

 

Bronze has been valued since antiquity for its strength and warm, golden tone. Over time, it naturally oxidizes—much like silver—creating a rich patina that adds depth and character. Its original luster can be easily restored with a jeweler’s polishing cloth as needed.
