Hand carved charm with the word "wisdom" in Egyptian hieroglyphics. It is interesting to note a depiction of an owl is part of the word wisdom.
Egyptian hieroglyphs were the formal writing system used in Ancient Egypt and comprised a total of some 1,000 distinct characters.
It was used between 3200 BC and 400 AD.
