Silver Terpsichore Greek Muse Necklace, hand carved and kiln-fired original artwork.
Terpsichore is one of the nine Muses and goddess of dance, ballet and chorus. She lends her name to the word "terpsichorean" which means "of or relating to dance". Terpsichore is usually depicted sitting down, holding a lyre, accompanying the dancers' choirs with her music.
The Greek muses were the patron goddesses of the arts of the realms of human spiritual activity, including poetry, art, and the sciences. It was thought that the Muses inspired poets and artists.
