Handmade Mayan goddess Ixchel pendant. Ix Chel is the Moon Jaguar goddess of fertility, procreation, midwifery and medicine.
Her name Ix Chel has been translated as “Lady Rainbow” or as “She of the Pale Face,” an allusion to the moon's surface. An entwined serpent serves as Ixchel's headdress, crossed bones may adorn her skirt. She is often represented holding a rabbit as it is a symbol of the moon in Mesoamerican civilizations.
