This pendant is a hand-carved reproduction of the Pliska Rosette, one of the most important surviving artifacts from early medieval Bulgaria. The original bronze rosette was discovered in Pliska, the first capital of the First Bulgarian Empire, and is dated to the 7th–9th century.

My version faithfully preserves the seven-armed form of the original artifact. Each arm bears engraved runiform signs associated with the Proto-Bulgars, along with a central symbol carved in relief.

Cast in solid bronze, the pendant retains the bold geometry and presence of the historical piece while remaining wearable and timeless.

The characters engraved on the seven arms belong to what scholars describe as Proto-Bulgar runiform signs. These signs resemble steppe runic systems and are often compared to early Turkic scripts.

  • Design and Symbolism: The 38 mm bronze star features7 rays, each inscribed with Proto-Bulgarian runes, believed to represent the sun, moon, and five planets known in antiquity, or potentially the days of the week.
  • The "𝜄𝑌𝜄" symbol, often interpreted as a mark of the proto-Bulgar pagan deity Tangra, a symbol for  a "divine" or "ruler".
